The Department of Electrical Engineering at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus organized an insightful seminar titled “Next-Generation Power Semiconductor Devices for High-Density EV Fast Charging Systems” on 15 October 2026, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. The session featured Dr. Tehseen Ilahi, Assistant Professor at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, as the guest speaker. Dr. Ilahi discussed the latest advancements in power semiconductor technologies, particularly Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN), and their role in developing faster, more efficient, and compact electric vehicle (EV) charging systems. He highlighted how these advanced devices overcome the limitations of conventional silicon-based technologies, enabling high-power charging with improved energy efficiency and thermal performance. The seminar was attended by students, particularly those in their final year, who gained valuable insights into emerging technologies and their practical applications in EV charging infrastructure. The event concluded with an engaging activity in which students enthusiastically participated, and the winners received tokens of appreciation. At the closing ceremony, Dr. Omer Saleem, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, presented a shield and a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Tehseen Ilahi in recognition of his valuable contribution and insightful session.
