Bridging AI & Pedagogy in ELT. The Department of Humanities & Social Sciences successfully conducted an engaging and insightful workshop on “Teach Smarter, Not Harder: Empowering English Teachers with AI,” bringing together English language educators from several prominent universities across Lahore, including Green University, Riphah International University, Qarshi University, and others. The workshop provided a valuable platform to explore how AI can go beyond being merely a technological aid and become a meaningful partner in needs analysis, diagnostic assessment, lesson planning, rubric development, classroom engagement, and outcome-based teaching. Heartfelt appreciation goes to Dr. Summaira Sarfraz for organizing and facilitating this timely initiative and for creating a space where educators could exchange ideas, experiment with AI-driven approaches, and reflect on the future of English language teaching. The workshop reinforced an important message: AI is not about teaching less—it is about teaching smarter, more purposefully, and more effectively.
