FAST–NUCES Lahore Campus had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Pubudu Darshana Kahandage (Senior Lecturer & Head, Department of Agricultural Engineering and Soil Science) and Mr. Eranda Januka Kosgollegedara (Lecturer) from the Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, under the Pak–Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Program. After arriving in Pakistan on February 16, 2026, and visiting the Islamabad campus, the delegation spent February 23 – March 1, 2026, at the FAST School of Computing, Lahore. Their visit featured campus and lab tours, meetings with the Head of School and department heads, interactive sessions on Generative AI in Agriculture and Higher Education, discussions with AI & Data Science faculty, presentations on AI–Agriculture funded projects, reviews of agriculture-focused FYPs, and a presentation on Sri Lanka’s higher education sector. The delegation also visited the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the University of the Punjab to explore academic collaboration opportunities. A key highlight of the visit was a meeting with Dr. Summaira Sarfraz, Campus Director, where discussions focused on strengthening faculty and student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and collaboration under the Higher Education Commissions of Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The guests also met Mr. Waqar Baig, Head International Office, to discuss ongoing internationalization efforts. The visit was coordinated by Dr. Ali Afzal Malik (Focal Person) and Muhammad Hasan and included cultural engagements across Lahore, fostering academic collaboration and cross-cultural exchange.
