The Department of Sciences and Humanities, FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus, organized a workshop titled “Speaking Data: An Introduction to PRAAT for Spoken Corpora” on November 13, 2025, conducted by Ms. Shifa Azam, MPhil Linguistics and English Language and Communication Coach at GELS.The session introduced participants to PRAAT, a leading tool for phonetic and speech analysis, with practical demonstrations on visualizing, annotating, and interpreting spoken data for linguistic research. MS and PhD Linguistics students, along with faculty members, actively participated and appreciated the workshop’s clarity, hands-on approach, and focus on analytical techniques.The workshop was part of the ongoing “Workshop Series on Corpus and Computational Studies (Fall 2025)”, reflecting the department’s commitment to strengthening digital, computational, and corpus-based research practices.
