A delegation of Aerodyne Group visited FAST-NUCES, Lahore Campus on Tuesday, 10th October, 2023. The team consisted of two people: Dr. Lim Eu Shawn (Chief Global Solutions Officer, Aerodyne Group) and Mr. Adnan Chaudhry who heads Aerodyne's AI team globally and is also the country head in Pakistan.Aerodyne Group provides end-end DRONE powered solutions across the globe including but not limited to inspection of critical infrastructure (Telecommunication towers, transmission and distribution lines and poles, solar farms, wind turbines, power plants etc.), precision agriculture, surveillance and border protection, and autonomous drone-based delivery of stuff. The delegation had a meetup with students, followed by a meetup with faculty members from the EE department. This visit aimed to give the students a know-how about the technology that they have built and future plans. The meeting with faculty members was meant to discuss collaboration in terms of creating opportunities for researchers and students to work on parts of projects and problems they are undertaking. Moreover, possibilities of hosting global internship program, where students can be employed as interns in the Lahore office as well as in Malaysia HQ, were discussed. The team provided inputs to shape curriculum in line with latest technical skill set requirements, especially in the domain of AI, and carve out plans to further foster the Aerodyne - academia collaboration.
