Profile

Dr. Sobia Tariq Javed has been affiliated with the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences since 2008, in the Department of Computer Science. Her research interests encompass Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Evolutionary Computation, Evolutionary Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Optimization. Her PhD research focused on Social Evolution and Cognitive Learning-Based Optimization Algorithms.

She has substantial experience in teaching and research at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and has supervised numerous final-year projects and master's theses. Dr. Sobia is the author of several national and international publications and actively contributes as a reviewer for well-regarded journals and conferences. She also serves on multiple academic and research committees, where she plays a key role in advancing academic standards and promoting research excellence.

In addition to her academic credentials, Dr. Sobia brings hands-on industry experience, having worked on real-world technology solutions. Notably, she played a significant role in high-impact projects under the Center for Research in Urdu Language Processing (CRULP) and PAN Localization—a multinational initiative involving 11 Asian countries, with a focus on multilingual computing and language localization.
