PROFILE Information:
Dr. Afzal Ahmed completed his B.S. in Computer Engineering from COMSATS Islamabad, Lahore Campus, Pakistan, in 2013. He accomplished his M.S. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Communication from COMSATS Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, Pakistan, in 2017. He completed his Ph.D. in Electronic and Information Engineering (with specialization in Communication and Information Systems) from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), Nanjing, China, in 2024. In his Ph.D., he conducted research on the design and experimental validation of novel structures of metasurfaces and chiral metasurfaces used for controlling the polarization states of electromagnetic (EM) waves. Presently, he is serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, FAST—National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES), Lahore, Pakistan. He has published several research papers in IEEE and Elsevier journals. His research interests mainly include the design of metasurfaces, chiral metasurfaces, and metasurfaces integrated with antennas for microwave frequency communications.
