Profile


Dr. Muhammad Akmal is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at FAST-NUCES, Lahore, with over 10 years of university-level teaching experience. Prior to joining FAST, he served as an Assistant Professor and Undergraduate Program In-Charge of Biomedical Engineering at Riphah International University, Lahore, where he led the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) accreditation efforts.

Dr. Akmal holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, NUST, Pakistan, and a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan. He is an HEC-approved Ph.D. supervisor and has supervised over 10 MS students. His research focuses on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in biomedical signals (EEG, EMG, etc.), interferometric signals, and rice agriculture. His work has been published in renowned international journals and conferences, including IEEE Sensors Journal and Multimedia Tools and Applications. Currently, he is dedicated to deploying AI to improve the healthcare sector in Pakistan.
