Prof Dr Saima Zafar, Head of Department, Electrical Engineering, FAST NU Lahore was invited to the Two Days 4th Consultative Workshop on "Gender Equality in Higher Education Leadership and Decision-Making" held on October 26-27, 2023 at Faletti's Hotel Lahore. Dr. Saima Zafar represented FAST NU in the conference that was organized by Quaid-e-Azam University and University of Gloucestershire in collaboration with the British Council. The chief guest of the opening ceremony, Prof Dr Khalid Mehmood-Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab expressed his very optimistic views on the issue highlighting different barriers to and strategies for achieving Gender Equality in Higher Education Leadership and Decision-Making Bodies. Prof Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar and Prof Dr Muhammad Ali joined the panel discussion and the closing ceremony and distributed certificates among the participants. The workshop was attended by numerous male and female leaders from both public and private universities of Punjab who suggested diverse solutions to the issue of gender equality in academia.
