Placement Office successfully organized the Recruitment Drive of Akhuwat on Thursday 19th Jan 2017. Akhuwat team presented about the programs and their upcoming projects for students. The organization is working on different development projects to educate the needy and deserving students of Pakistan by building school, colleges and university. Volunteer and internship opportunities exist with Akhuwat.

Placement Office successfully organized a talk of Mr. Qashif Effendi CEO Reem Rice Mills (France, Dubai) on 'Branding Yourself'. Mr. Qashif holds a diversified portfolio and have worked with Unilever, Supreme and other multinational companies. His talk highlighted the points how can students pitch themselves in the competitive job market. He emphasized the importance of 'Work Ethics' and 'Professional Development'. Students showed an overwhelming response by asking questions and took insights about professional life ahead.

Meet and Greet session, organized by Nuces Media Group was held on Wednesday, 18th January 2017. The society hosted renowned Pakistani actors Osman Khalid Butt and Ainee Nadeem for promotion of their upcoming film "Balu Mahi". The students endlessly enjoyed the get together and rejoiced the event.

Pakistan Geotechnical Engineering Society (PGES) in collaboration with National University of Computing and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES) held an International conference namely International Conference on New Challenges in Geotechnical Engineering (ICNCGE 2017) at FAST-NUCES Lahore campus on Monday January 23, 2017. The Chief guest of the conference is Engineer in Chief (E-in- C) Pakistan Lieutenant General Khalid Asghar and many other dignities will grace the occasion. Pakistan Geotechnical Engineering Society was instituted in 1983, by a group of geotechnical engineers/geologists representing various public and private sector organizations of Pakistan. The platform was developed to promote the awareness of the Geotechnical Engineering in the engineering environment of Pakistan. The society has contributed to enhance the local expertise in the field of geotechnical engineering, by disseminating geotechnical knowledge through organizing technical lectures, conferences, site visits etc. The society aims to enhance the geotechnical knowledge-base in the field of geotechnical engineering, to groom good professionals for the country.

Alumni session was arranged with the students with the Alumni Mr. Sajid Akbar, alumnus of Batch-99 who was visiting Pakistan from Canada and currently serves as Manager, Oracle . His talk highlighted points on best practices in the industry and representing yourself to prospective employers. He also touch upon the growing culture of Start-Ups in Pakistan and career opportunities they have created.

Undergraduate students of Fast School of Management Lahore; Mir Rawtah and Mahnoor Baloch; presented a paper at the "Conference on Banking, Insurance & Business Management" at Hailey College of Banking & Finance, University of Punjab. Their research paper, titled "TELECOM; The Future of Internet Providers", analysed whether the brand extension of telecom industry to internet service provision adversely affect the sales of internet service providers, while increasing usage of internet in Pakistan.

"In most recent events, Plan 9 and Careem collaborated to host the biggest Entrepreneurial Business Idea Competition in Punjab, ERUPT'16, visiting almost 20 universities and choosing one winner from each institution to compete for the national crown. Five shortlisted ideas from within FAST competed internally and the champions "Stock Spot" consisting of Nasir Subhani, Warda Waheed, Mahnoor Khan, Saram Ali and Mir Rawtah went forward to compete in the nationals, where they presented a genius idea appreciated and approached by investors.

Placement Office successfully organized Mock Interviews for Management Trainee Officer positions with HONDA a multinational company on Tuesday 3rd Jan 2017. Assistant Manager HR (HONDA) Ms. Amna Farrukh conducted the Interview Sessions with the students. The interview comprised of structured questions; situational and behavioral to assess the critical thinking, communication and presentation skills of the graduating students. Feedback was provided to each student in detail and areas of improvement were discussed.  

Overseas Alumni Meet-up | FAST-NU Lahore

A group of overseas alumni of FAST-NU Lahore visited the campus on Tuesday, 3rd Jan 2017. The group belonged to 1999, 2000, and 2001 batches and are currently living in USA, Canada, Australia and Middle East. They were briefed about the new developments on campus and visited Labs and classrooms.
