The event “This Biryani Tastes Funny” took place on 16th august at FAST-NU. The event was presented by “Kuch Khas” in collaboration with NUCES Media Group alongside the sponsorship of OSAF-Old Student Association FAST-NU. The comedian was none other than Jeremy McLellan, The Best Local Comic of Charleston. Jeremy is well known for his laughter gigs and standup comedy. Jeremy got an enormous response on social media before and after coming to Pakistan. It created a great buzz amongst the college and university goers which was justified when people brought their friends and family with them. The show was a monumental success, with the sounds of laughter and giggles echoing in the auditorium. People even opted to sit on the staircases just to be a part of this great event. These all happenings are testimonies to what FAST-NUCES can do and we can further look forward to such events. Due to the Jeremey’s endless love for biryani the show has been named; ‘This Biryani Tastes Funny”.

DramaF's Street Theatre | Defence Day

On 6th of September, DramaF, in collaboration with FAST Music Society and FAST Care performed a street theatre "Aik aur Jhoot". The premise of the play depicted the essence of Defence day. It broached numerous social ills in a farcical tone and how individuals twist the words of their fellow men which in effect undermines social reform, as a whole.
Moreover, a huge crowd was gathered; the applause from the audience at the end of the performance was well received and the message that we were trying to portray was appreciated. 

Dos and Don’ts of Personal Statement | CCS

A session conducted in collaboration of Alumni was focused on how to get yourself through the process of applying and going abroad for studies. It primarily talked about the do’s and don'ts of writing an effective personal statement. How to represent yourself as different person so that they select you out of a pool of 20,000 students which applies. Furthermore, they talked about what are the important things to be mentioned in a personal statement and how does that make you standout. Lastly how your personal statement should be connected and how everything is to be covered in just 250 words.

Defence Day Celebration'17 | Fast Care

In the memory of those brave soldiers, who fought and were martyred on 6th September, 1965, Pakistan has marked that unforgettable day as its Defence Day. It is celebrated enthusiastically across Pakistan. To emphasize its importance and carry on the traditions, FAST CARE itself has organized series of events.
The event commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony followed by the national anthem of Pakistan. DramaF also contributed in the event by performing a play reviving the memories of 6th September, 1965. Photo booth session and face painting added color to the event. The whole event conducted by the FAST CARE team highly encouraged by the honorable director and faculty members of FAST-NUCES, Lahore.
It was a day that revived the value of honour by bringing unity among students. Altogether, the event was a great success due to the participation of crowd in all the activities presented. 

VOICE |Debating Society Fast-NU | Orientation'17

VOICE, Debating Society Fast-NU Lahore organized its orientation on 31st of August 2017. The purpose of the event was to introduce the newly admitted students to the art of public speaking. A comic debate was presented in the form of a skit to intimate the students with parliamentary style of debating. The society received a warm welcome and an overwhelming response. The event marked the start of Voice’s journey for the 2017-2018 academic year.

SAFFRAN GROUP | JAPAN | Youth Empowerment Program

An event was held in the honor of the Saffron Group which included the signing of MOU between the Director of FAST NU Lahore and the CEO of the Saffron Group.
The session was held to introduce the Youth Empowerment Program. In this session they discussed their plans to train students in Japanese Language and also to make work opportunities for such students in Japan. They also discussed about their student exchange and internship programs.

Summer Workshops Program 2017

When students were feeling bored after taking a tough spring semester. There was surely something cooking up at our end and we geared up to provide them with some excellent opportunities that helped them hone their skills and brought them closer to practicality of the world.
On the lighter side, this enabled the students in a way to beat the extreme heat of this summer.
Old Students Association of FAST (OSAF) in collaboration with FAST-NUCES offered workshops on Basics of Web Development and Graphic Designing for current students of FAST. Muhammad Ateeq Azam from Batch 2011 taught the Basic Web Development Short course, While Ch Umair Ahmed & Ehtasham Khan from Batch 2011 provided a unique and real time project based training workshop on Graphics designing.
Huge number of students took interest and joined these workshops. Ms Aqsa Sarfraz from Placement Office of FAST played a pivot roll in this whole process. These workshops will definitely unleash the creativity and will play a key role towards a successful earning career for students.

48th Convocation | FAST National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences | Congratulations to all the Graduates!

48th Convocation of the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES) Lahore campus took place on Wednesday 2nd Aug 2017. As many as 540 students graduated from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES). Degrees and medals were awarded to the graduates at the university’s 48th graduation ceremony.

Honorable Chairman HEC Dr Mukhtar Ahmad and Rector Amir Muhammed chaired the ceremony.

VOICE's achievements at PMC All Pakistan Debates 2017

VOICE represented FAST Lahore at PMC's 2nd All Pakistan Bilingual Parliamentary Debates Competition 2017 which was held at Pakistan Medical College, Faisalabad. VOICE participated in both English and Urdu categories which included teams from all over Pakistan. The English team consisting of Nashit bin Mashkoor, Oneeb Babar and Waleed Shahid secured their position as the runners up of the competition. Furthermore, Aamna Shahid was named the best speaker in the English category. The Urdu team was represented by Hamza Arif, Mudassar Seemab and Taseer Ijaz.

Guest Speaker Session by VOICE Debating Society

VOICE arranged a guest speaker session on August 1st' 2017 aimed at improving the strategy and content of trainees and the team members. Raza Gillani, a veteran speaker and former president of Government College university's Debating Society helped the team in understanding key concepts and important information, which can prove quite useful in Debates. Furthermore, he helped the team in understanding the variables on which a particular decision of any debate match is based upon.
